Last year, Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng left a lot of families homeless in the Philippines. Some even died and the rest suffered from major accidents. Northern Luzon and Metro Manila were strongly hit. It left a lot of Filipinos devastated and some of them haven’t recovered up to this day.
Right now, Super Typhoon Megi enters the country specifically in Northern Luzon. There are landslides reports from Isabela and the Cagayan area. The residents were requested to evacuate in a more safe area to avoid unfortunate deaths and accidents.
As of writing, the typhoon is about to enter Metro Manila. With 225km/h (140mph), it is predicted that some areas will have no electricity and water supply for days. It is advisable to buy the necessities such as enough food supply, water for drinking, batteries for flashlights and candles to light up the house at night. Local TV stations such as ABS-CBN, GMA, TV5, IBC-13 and RPN-9 are giving out up-to-date information regarding the so-called ‘strongest typhoon to reach the Philippines in 2010’.
