Grover Cleveland Alexander is a famous person in the world of baseball. The legendary baseball player who is also known as “Old Pete”. He played in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938.

He has acquired awesome achievements that baseball players of today’s generation has been dying to have. These would include 90 shutouts that is a National League record and his 373 wins are tied with Christy Mathewson for first in the National League record book. He is also third all time in wins, tenth in innings pitched (5190), second in shutouts, and eighth in hits allowed (4868).

He was born in n Elba, Nebraska and got his first professional contract in 1907 at an early age of 20 earning $20. Quite big enough during his time. He then passed away at the age of 63.

The Grover Cleveland Alexander Tournament has been dedicated for his memory. The tournament took place in St. Paul and the York Cornerstone Seniors who came in with a 14-6 record and took the victory in 5 out of their last 6 games.
